This fierce yet friendly looking beast dates from the late 19th Century; executed with masterful craftsmanship by the artisan in hand-carved wood, with dramatic large teeth and a powerful yet peaceful expression. The wood has a warm and worn patina, a testament to the age and the journey through time with faint traces of original paint. The sculpture has been mounted on a black metal support.
